Mr K. T. Batty, who has been in business in Tainui street, Greymouth, for the last 15 years will cease trading today. His premises will be taken over by Heveldt Bros., of Hokitika.

One of Mr Batty’s many services has been to shipping which has visited the port. He said he could “write a book” about the quantity of food he had carted to the wharf at all hours and under all conditions.

Mr Batty will remain in Greymouth. He has accepted a position as regional sales organiser for the Northern Building Society.
