No Husbands At Births
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 28. Husbands may be admitted to the first-stage labour rooms in Wellington Hospital Board maternity institutions where this is practicable. But under no circumstances will they be allowed to enter the theatres or be present at the actual confinement.
The board at its monthly meeting tonight reaffirmed its policy on this matter. Members and the board felt its policy should be made public because of likely misinterpretations.
Unpolluted Harbour. Auckland is the only major seaport in the world that doesn’t pollute its harbour,” said the Mayor (Mr D. M. Robinson),, addressing delegates at the Milk Authorities Association. Mr Robinson described the output from the sewerage purification system as “almost as pure as the milk you people distribute.” —(PA.)
