INSTITUTE GROUP

Formation At Sunnyside A Country Women's Institute group formed at the Sunnyside Hospital by the Canterbury federation of C.W.I. has aroused keen interest among a number of the women patients there, and at its first meeting, held recently, a president, secretary and treasurer of the group were appointed. Regular meetings will be held under the guidance of the federation. Competition for the meeting was a small arrangement of flowers and later Miss L. Martin (Hillsborough-Heath-cote institute) demonstrated how to make a number of art and craft objects. Peggy Squares The group has also decided to knit peggy squares, to be made into a quilt for some worthy cause, and members of the federation will provide wool and needles for these. Mrs L. M. Kellaway (president of the federation) and Mrs G. E. Maclachlan (secretary) were present at the meeting. Mrs B. M. Bryden. a former member of the Tamarere institute, Bay of Islands, and now an occupational therapy aid at Sunnyside, introduced the idea of an institute group at the hospital.
