Issue For Motorists
When motorists relicense their vehicles next month they will receive a package containing the items shown above. They are the new permanent number plates, a key tag and a leaflet explaining the work of the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society, and a service ensuring a quick return of lost car keys.
Each tag will be stamped with the owner's registration number and a request to anyone finding lost keys to return them to the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society. The society has been granted access to Post Office relicensing records and, on receipt of a lost key, will check with the files in Wel-
lington and return the key to the rightful owner. No charge will be made for this service, but experience overseas demonstrated that owners of returned keys readily show their appreciation by making donations to further the work of the group concerned—in this instance the welfare of intellectually, handicapped persons in New Zealand.
