SHOCK TACTICS ON YOUNG “ROCKERS”

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, May 27. Shock tactics were used on a group of leather - jacketed teenage motor-cyclists by a surgeon today. The youths and girls were shown to the bedside of 16-year-old Michael Flynn, who had come within inches of death. The youngsters arrived, laughing and joking, at Chelmsford, Essex, Hospital. Then Michael handed them two notes.

The first said: “I am blind.” The second warned: “You could be the next.” They left the bedside of the youth, who is still unable to talk, in tears after being taken in two at a time to see him. Friends of the injured youth said he was in a collision as “Mods” and “Rockers” buzzed one another. The dangerous game, played on motor-cycles and scooters, is to see who swerves first.
