Round Table Convention In City At Week-end

The annual convention of the Round Table of New Zealand will be held in Christchurch during the week-end. It will be attended by about 400 persons, among them 30 delegates from Apex, the Australian equivalent of the New Zealand Round Table. The Australians arrived In Christchurch by special charter flight on Wednesday and went to Mount Cook on a sight-seeing tour. The convention will start this evening with a meeting of the national executive of the organisation, and end on Monday. This will be the fourth convention, and the second held in Christchurch, the first convention having been held here. There will be an informal concert and social in the evening. There will be further business sessions on Monday, when the convention will end. Special activities have been arranged for the wives of delegates. The Round Table is an international organisation for men between 18 and 46. Its aims are to encourage members to make an active and intelligent approach to good citizenship, to accept and display civic responsibility, and to promote high standards in business and professional life.
