New Skoda
The new Skoda announced by the Czechoslovakian firm recently is to be called the 1000 MB. It is powered by a rear-mounted four-cylinder engine with an aluminium block and an iron head, the unit being said to develop 45 b.h.p. at 4650 r.p.m. Suspension is Independent all round, and the four forward speeds in the gearbox are all synchromesh. The body is a four-door four seater with folding front seats, and top speed is about 75 m.p.h. It is not expected versions will be seen in this country for up to two years.
