Labour Short

Labour was short on the Lyttelton waterfront yesterday morning. At 8 a.m. another 143 men were required to fill existing vacancies. Two overseas vessels, the Persic and Cornwall, which both arrived from Brisbane in ballast to begin loading, were short manned.
