Town Planning
Sir, —Replying to Cr. Griffiths, I am referring to the two-storey schoolrooms 'in concrete block built about five years ago (not to outbuildings built 30 years ago) which have ruined the properties of adjoining ratepayers. If' Cr. Griffiths cares to inspect the heaps (not heap) of earth and refuse, he will see that they have been increased, not decreased, recently. Ratepayers demand the. removal, not the reduction, of the heaps in accordance- with the Town Planning Act (Section 38A). They should never have been permitted there. The stockpiling of the earth and refuse is unnecessary.—Yours,' etc., DISGUSTED RATEPAYER. May 11, 1964. [The chairman of the town planning committee of the Christchurch City Council (Cr. G. D. Griffiths) said: “The buildings referred to comply with the town-planning ordinances and by-laws and the heaps are not refuse.’’]
