Third-Party Insurance
Sir,—One views with concern the ever-increasing cost of car insurance. .The expressed tolerance of the Minister of Transport towards young people has been noted; but it seems to me it is time the Minister had a new, modern look at the problem of youthful drivers. A recent news item stated that the Palmerston North Hospital—one of many—was concerned at the number of youthful accident patients, aged 15 to 25. Overseas insurance companies—and one in the North Island—charge higher premiums for these age groups. Is it not time the Government applied its “user pays” policy here?— Yours etc., SENIOR MOTORIST.
