RESIDENTS’ FEDERATION
July Meeting Planned (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 21. A meeting of 31 delegates from North Island ratepayers’ associations decided at Newmarket on Wednesday night, to set up a New Zealand residents and ratepayers’ federation. The delegates unanimously agreed that an organisation was needed to co-ordinate the views and opinions of widely scattered small associations. Messrs G. N. Caldwell (Tamaki), R. Hollis (Te Atatu), J. Woolf (Wairoa), J. Fittes (Wai hi), and N. W. Alford (Napier) were appointed to a steering committee to invite all ratepayers and residents’ associations in New Zealand to send delegates to a meeting in July. . The committee will draft a constitution and arrange for the incorporation of the federation.
