VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE
Brochure For Maoris
“Many Maori parents are unaware of the very wide range of occupations open to their children, or of the qualifications needed,” says the secretary of the Maori Education Foundation (Mr J. S. Jolliff) in a statement to “The Press.” For this reason, the foundation is distributing a special vocational guidance brochure he says. The brochure does not set out to cover all possible jobs, or to give detailed information about those listed, says Mr Jolliff. Its main objective is to inform Maori parents where they can get further help. The brochures will be distributed through professional char ’els, but also through the New Zealand Maori Council and tho Maori Women’s Welfare League, who have volunteered to circulate them through their branch committees.
