Contracts for three fast cargo liners each of over 10,000 tons dead-weight and worth altogether more than £6m, have been placed here by the New Zealand Shipping Company. Announcing this, the shipbuilding firm of Bartram and Sons said here today that the liners would be full-refrige-rated and designed for the carriage of frozen cargo, liquid cargo and general cargo.

Of the three contracts, one is for delivery late 1965 and the other two late 1966.
