16 Girls In Golf Finals cv Z. Press Association) MASTERTON, May 19. Last year’s winner, Miss J Butler (Auckland), and Miss H. Booth (Rotorua), with aggregate gross scores of 155, led the field of 40 after two rounds of qualifying play in the New Zealand girls’ under 21 golf tournament which began at Masterton today.
The 16 girls who qualified for match play include two from Canterbury, Misses M. Ensor and A. Garland. The 16 are:— 155: J. Butler (Auckland), H. Booth (Rotorua). 157: S. Turvey (Rotorua). 158: M. Ensor (Canterbury). 159: J. Bawden (Auckland), D Peters (Waikato). J. Hanratty (Wellington) 161: G. Taylor (Taranaki). 162: G. Turner (Manawatu). 164: V. Nixon (Auckland). 166: W. Bryan (Waikato). 167: K. Haughton (Waikato). 171: H. Mowat (Manawatu). 174: J. Cunningham (Waikato), S. Robertson (Auckland). 178: A. Garland (Canterbury).
