BROADWAY TICKETS
Price Abuses Charged (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) NEW YORK, May 19. Police yesterday arrested three Broadway ticket brokers on scalping charges. The District Attorney, Frank Hogan, said the arrests were in connexion With a Grand Jury investigation of alleged abuses in the theatrical industry. The ticket brokers were accused of selling tickets for such hit shows as “Oliver,” and “Hello Dolly” for as much as 27.50 dollars each. The brokers were identified as Joey Gold, aged 59, operator of the Joey Gold Ticket Service, William Malament, aged 35, secretarytreasurer of the Lincoln Ticket Agency, and Mrs Betty Schack, aged 58, operator of the Manhattan Ticket Service.
