Dr. E. J. Velvin, of Hastings, is to be the nominee District Governor of Rotary District 294 for 1965, the Hastings Rotary Club has announced. Dr. Velvin’s appointment will be confirmed at the next conference in June of Rotary International in Toronto.—(P.A.) The chairman of the Wool Board, Mr J. Acland, and Messrs B. S. Trolove and C. H. Bethell, members of the board, have left New Zealand to attend a full meeting of the board of the International Wool Secretariat in London early next month. The general manager of the board, Mr J. D. Fraser, is also going to the United Kingdom and these four will be joined subsequently by Mr L. P. Chapiman, who is travelling privately but will attend the board meeting as an observer.
Mr K. N. Buttle has been elected president of the Auckland Savings Bank. He was deputy-president. Mr E. H. Halstead is now deputypresident. Both have been trustees for three years.
Mr E. J. Bingham is joining the staff of the Wool Board as a technical service officer. He was formerly employed by Tekau Knitwear Ltd., of Ashburton, as dyer and finisher. His early training was in textile dyeing at Sydney Technical College and since then he has bad wide experience in the tracre tn Australia and New Zealand
