Cheshire Homes Fund
The Mayor (Mr G. Manning) has agreed to set up a fund for the international centre of the Cheshire homes at Dehra Dun, India. In Christchurch last week Group Captain G. L. Cheshire, V.C., said that the homes bearing his name which had been set up in several countries were self-supporting, calling on the local communities for finance, but that there was a need for overseas help for the international centre, “Raphael.” He said he hoped to enlist New Zealand support for this.
