FELLOWSHIP AWARDED
Chch. Science Graduate
Mr C. G. Freeman, of Christchurch, has been awarded the Imperial Chemical Industries (New Zealand), Ltd. research fellowship for 1964. Mr Freeman completed his B.Sc. degree, with first-class honours in chemistry, at the University of Canterbury last
year. He was awarded the Haydon prize in chemistry Hl in 1962. Under the tenure of the fellowship Mr Freeman will study for a Ph.D. degree. His research topic will be in the field of chemical reaction in the upper atmosphere. Mr Freeman attended the Christchurch Boys’ High School from 1956 to 1960, and gained a university junior scholarship with the third highest marks in New Zealand. His interests include athletics, in which he has represented Canterbury as a junior in both ihterprovincial and national championships. Mr Freeman is also an officer in the Boys’ Brigade.
