The English League Soccer Club, Everton, playing threequarters of the match at full Sace, beat Australia. 5-1, at ydney yesterday. The Englishmen had to pour on full power to overcome a hard-working Australian team At half-time, the score was 1-1 Everton wen the first match at Melbourne last week, 8-2 A crowd of 39,794 saw the Australians match the Englishmen in pace and skill until Ever ton scored three quick, goals in the second half. Scorers for Everton were: J Morressy (2), J. Gabriel, A Scott and C. Harvey. Australia's goal was scored by H. Ninans.
Sporting Club, Lisbon, won the European Cup Winner's Cup on Friday, beating M T.K. Budapest. 1-0. in a replay. The clubs had drawn, 3-3. in Brussels last Wednesday.—Antwerp, May 17.)
