ON THE ROMNEY MARSHES.—This is a ram hogget on one of the properties of Mr J. Merricks on the Romney marshes, Kent. Mr G. N. Francis, of Christchurch, who recently visited Mr Merricks’s properties, notes that it is cleaner headed and longer in the face than New Zealand Romneys and is a little higher off the ground. It has wool of 50-54’s count, When shorn recently, Mr Merricks’s hoggets clipped an average of 11 l-31b.
