SERVICE TO DEEP COVE
(N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 15. The managing director of the Northern Shipping Company (Mr A. G. Hardy) said in Auckland today that his company ended its Deep Cove run last week because of an alleged breach of contract by Utah - Williamson - Burnett, builders of the tailrace tunnel at Manapouri. One of the ships of Holm and Company, Ltd., the Holmwood, is on its way to Deep Cove with a cargo for the area, but is only “helping out,” said a spokesman for the company. The run was a particularly valuable one to the Northern Company, because after discharging a cargo of building materials for the area, its ships were able to proceed to Jacksons Bay and take on a full load of timber for Onehunga, said Mr Hardy.
