DOG owners are reminded that, pursuant to Section 11 of the Dogs Registration Act, 1959, where the ownership of a dog is, changed, it is the responsibility of the New Owner to notify such change in writing within 14 days, to' the Dog Registrar of the local authority within whose district the new owner /resides. Failure to comply with these provisions is an offence under the Act. Dog owners are also reminded that, under the Geraldine County Control of Dogs By-law, 1959, it is an offence to allow a dog or dogs to be at large or escape from a house or premises during the period commencing half an hour after sunset on any day and ending half an hour before sunrise on the following day. excepting that the dog or dogs be under the immediate personal control of a person not less than 14 years of age.
