MEN’S BASKETBALL Illegal Entry Made To Stadium By Side Door

Concern at the number of persons entering Cowles Stadium on competition nights at a meeting of the Canterbury Men’s Basketball Association. The convener of the competitions committee (Mr M. A. McDougall) reported that several persons had been caught this week attempting to gain illegal entry to the stadium, but there were obviously many more who had not been caught. On occasions, players leaving the stadium had done so through a side door, which was left unlocked in case of fire, but could only be opened from the inside. They had left the door open and other players and spectators had taken advantake of it. It was agreed to instruct players to enter and leave by the main door and an assurance that a close watch would be kept in future was given by senior officials. TV Games The secretary (Mr A. W. Barrett) reported that the

A letter was received from . the Marlborough association > stating that the Canadian - Goodwill tournament would be held as scheduled on May 16 in spite of the fact that Canterbury would be unable to attend. It was hoped to stage the tournament on a set day each year, said the letter. Wrong Numbers The committee viewed with i disfavour the number of L players wearing incorrect r uniforms in the weekly i inter-club matches.
