PRAYER FOR UNION
Four Churches In Service Christchurch’s two Lutheran churches, the Durham Street Methodist Church, and the Salvation Army City Citadel, will join in a special united service to pray for church union next week. The service will be held in the Salvation Army Citadel on Thursday, May 21, and ministers from the four churches will take part. The Salvation Army Citadel Band and the Durham Street Methodist Church choir will take part in the service. Hymn singing will be led by Major R. H. Tong, officer in charge of the citadel, prayers and readings will be given by the Rev. W. S. Dawson of the Methodist Church and the Rev. R. R. Reinfelds of St. Mara’s Latvian Lutheran Church, and the preacher will be the Rev. K. W. Schuessler, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
