FINDING MARKETS
Problem For Fishing (N.Z. Presj Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, May 14. A Palmerston North industrial designer, Mr N. A. Ashby, landed in Wellington yesterday after seven days of research aboard the Rumanian fishing vessel Constanta. Talking about his trip, Mr Ashby said he was convinced the basic problem with fishing was not to catch fish but to find markets for it. The Constanta will be in New Zealand waters for another 15 to 20 days.
It is on proving trials around the New Zealand coast before being accepted by Rumania from its Japanese builders. Mr Ashby went on board as assistant to Dr. E- B. Slack, aenior lecturer on plant fisheries at the Victoria University of Wellington.
