A cheque for £106 was presented to Mr L. A. Bennett, chairman of the local branch of th* Cancer Society of New Zealand, recently by Mr Neil Thompson on behalf of Caltex dealers in North Canterbury. They devoted all their profts on Caltex petrol sold on May 6th to the society’s funds. Messrs J. K. Davidson and W. G. Quirk, members of the society, and P. Fitzgerald, associate-director of the Cytogenetics Unit, were also present. Mr J. R. J. Connolly, South Island manager of Caltex Oil (N.Z.) Ltd., also presented a cheque which represents a a £ for £ subsidy by the company on the amount given by the dealers.
