11 Road Accidents Occur Between 4 And 11 p.m.

Eleven road accidents occurred in Christchurch between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. yesterday, but nobody was seriously injured. 1 Three persons were injured when a taxi and car collided at the corner of Selwyn street and Redruth avenue. The taxi-driver, Mr H. Manson, of 43 Eureka street, suffered back injuries and was admitted to the Public Hospital. His passenger. Miss Corrina Waklin, of 183 Buchanans road, suffered facial injuries and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital. The driver of the other car suffered only a minor injury.

Nobody was hurt when a car ran off the road near Victoria Park. A breakdown truck pulled the car on to the road. It did not go over the bank.

A car parked outside Amuri Motors, Ltd., in Durham street, before it began to rain, was later in the evening found with back wheels sunk in a ditch in the road. A breakdown truck was required to get the car out, as the back of it was resting on the differential.

Two motor-scooter riders suffered minor injuries when they collided on the corner of Linwood avenue and Hay street at 8.15 p.m. They were treated at the Public Hospital and discharged. A doctor’s car went into a ditch near Greta Paddock, on the Main North road, and had to be pulled out by a breakdown truck from Christchurch. A cyclist suffered minor injuries in a collision with a car at the corner of Armagh street and Stanmore road at 5.10 p.m. A man suffered slight head injuries when two cars collided at the corner of Halswell road junction and Shands road. A motorcyclist was hurt in a collision with a car at the corner of Ferry and Aidwins roads at 4.52 p.m.
