New Big Shop For New Brighton
A 10,000 sq. ft. store will be built next year on the corner of Seawiev road and Oram avenue. New Brighton, for the New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Asociation of Canterbury, Ltd. The company has bought the old buildings, which house six shops, on the corner and a next-door two-storey building in Seaview road which will be used with the new building. The store, which will be the eighth suburban branch of the company, will stock all the merchandise of the head shop. There will be access to Beresford street.
The new shop will have a frontage of 83ft on Seaview road, 60ft in Oram avenue and 59ft in Beresford street. The architects for the new building, a sketch of which is shown above, are W. H. Trengrove, Trengrove and Marshall. It will be one of the biggest buildings in the suburb.
