SHAKESPEAREAN DINNER
Deer, Wild Boar Required Efforts by Christchurch’s public relations officer, Mr C. N. Todd, to shoot a deer for next Saturday’s Shakespearean dinner failed. However, Mr Todd and a companion, Mr D. Patchet, returned with two wild pigs which they shot in the Hanmer district. Complimentary tickets for the dinner will be given to hunters who deliver' wild boar and venison to the organiser, Mr G. Kaiie. These two meats are urgently required for two of the main courses. The organisers are also prepared to pay transport costs for any portion of meat from anywhere. Mr A. Doyle of Benmore has told Mr Kane that he may be able to get supplies of venison from deer-stalkers who were due at Benmore on Sunday.
