G.L.B. Church Parade
More than 1500 members of the Christchurch Division of the Girls' Life Brigade and their parents attended the annual church parade at the Durham street Methodist Church on Sunday. The four battalions of the division marched to the church from Cranmer square. The parade was led by the I Sydenham Salvation Army Band. Boys’ Brigade bands from the Ist, Bth, and 23rd Christchurch companies led ithe remaining- three battalions.
After the service the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) and Mrs Manning, the divisional president (Mrs W. G. Leatham) and the three chaplains stood on the saluting base in Ches- : ter street while the paraded marched past, j The service was led by the chaplain of the 4th Battalion (the Rev. G. Yearbury), the Scripture was read by the chaplain of the 3rd Battalion i (the Rev. C. M. Russ) and address was given by the div-| isional chaplain (the Rev. R M. O’Grady). The Girls’ Life Brigade} promise was led by Commissioner (Major D. Strachan) iand the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) brought greetings from ’■ the city.
