Second English Player To Join New Brighton

Another senior player is coming out from England to join the New Brighton soccer club. He is 21-year-old T. Conley, a centre- or insideforward who is currently playing for the Lancashire Combination team, Darwin. Conley, who is a qualified tool fitter, is travelling to New Zealand as an assisted immigrant, and has been told that he will probably leave Eng--1 'd in June.

He will be the second player from Britain to join New Brighton this season. The former England international, E. Taylor, arrived in Christchurch 10 days ago and may play his first game for the club on Saturday. Leading Scorer

New Brighton officials received a letter from the Darwin club secretary, dated April 4, in which they were told Conley, with 21 goals,

was .at that time leading scorer in the Lancashire Combination. Reserve teams of several English League clubs play in the competition. Conley has also been taking an F.A. coaching course under the instruction of the former Bolton Wanderers player, H. Hassall. He was a part-time professional with Nantwich T> wn before joining Darwin, and signed amateur forms with Bolton Wanderers.

A colleague of Conley’s at Darwin, 20-year-old K. Morgan, an inside-left, has also been in touch with New Brighton officials with a view to joining the club. Before joining Darwin Morgan played for the Welsh League side, Rhyl. Taylor, Conley and Morgan have all contacted New Brighton in reply to a letter the. club captain, R. Foley, sent to a Manchester evening newspaper..
