Briscoe For S. Africa
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, April 1. K. C. Briscoe, not C. R. Laidlaw, will be the halfback to go to South Africa in May for the matches to mark the jubilee of the South African Rugby Board. An earlier report said that Laidlaw had been invited but the invitation was issued to either Briscoe or Laidlaw, Briscoe being the first choice. Laidlaw, however, was not available. Briscoe, who announced his retirement from Rugby when he returned from the tour of Britain, has said that he will be available.
