Investiture Held
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 24. The Governor-General (Sir Bernard Fergusson) held an investiture at Government House, Auckland, this afternoon, at which lie presented to the Honourable Sir Alfred North, Q.C., of Wellington, the insignia of a knight commander of the Civil Division of the Order of the British Empire, and conferred upon the Honourable Thaddeus McCarthy, also of Wellington, the honour of Knight Bachelor. After the ceremony, His Excellency and Lady Fergusson received the guests, who included relations and friends of the recipients and representatives of the judiciary and the legal profession in Auckland.
