Carriers’ Officers Elected
The Christchurch and Suburban Carriers’ and Customhouse Agents’ Association will change its name to the Christchurch Road Transport Association. This was decided at the annual meeting of the association this month. The following officers were elected:—Chairman, Mr N. S. Bidwell; vice-chairman, Mr A. G. Williams; executive, Messrs L. V. Etwell, N. W. Durham, A. G. Williams, E. A. McNaughton, G. Royce, D. A. R. Mcßeth, R. B. Trim, R. C. Wallace, R. C. Higgott and D. F. Musgrove. Loan Filled. —The Mataura Licensing Trust may well have established a record for speed in filling a loan. The trust opened its No. 5 development loan of £16,000 at 9 o’clock this morning and within 30 minutes it had been filled.— (P.A.)
