World Corriedale Meeting Planned

VEXT year Melbourne will * be‘the venue for the first time of the World Corriedale Sheep Conference. This meeting has already been held at five-yearly intervals in New Zealand, the United States, and Argentina. An opportunity’ will *be given the conference to inspect Australian Corriedale studs and, as the conference will be held in the last Week in July, the delegates will be able to visit the Sheep Show and sales.

Last month, under the chairmanship of the president of the Australian Corriedale Association (Mr J. W. D. Ward), representatives of the Corriedale Association conferred at the Royal Show Grounds with representatives of the Australian Department of Trade, Department of

Primary Industry, Australian Wool Board, and . Royal Agricultural Society to discuss plans for the conference and for the organisation of the international Corriedale fleece competition which will be a .featlire of the conference. This will be divided into sections, to accommodate-the various countries ’’ and . the various States, of the Commonwealth. For the trophies £550 has ’ been 1 provided by the Australian Wool Board, including £lOO in trophies, for supreme championships.
