£4000 Damage In Shoe Shop
(N.Z. Pre** Association) AUCKLAND, March 20. Thieves are thought to have started a fire in which hundreds of pairs of shoes were destroyed or damaged by heat and water in a New Lynn shop early this morning. The damage is estimated at £4OOO, with about twothirds of the stock being affected. Burglars are thought to have entered MiHs Shoe Centre by a window at the rear of the building. The fire brigade call was an anonymous one.
Halsweil ' Building.—Thirteen building permits to a total value of £7985 were issued by the HalsweU County Council last month. Of this number only one was for a dwelling.
