The official’, report issued., by the ’ South Canterbury* .'Woplbrokers’ Association, in 'conjunction with ' New Zealand Wodlbuyers’- . Association and Nevi Zealand Wool'Commission, is as follows, says tht» ,New Zealand Press Association: ’ • . “The fourth and final Tiptaru wool sale for -the 1963-84 season .opened with a total offering of 29:191 bales of. greasy wool, and 121? bales of scoured, submitted by five selling broker's.“The condition: .of the wool was well: uh -to expectation, with , a ■ large percentage of' average 1.0 good styles’, but with a proportion' of* inferior lots. 'A feature ,pf the sale w?S .the unusually large quantity-' of second-sheaf and- lambs’- wool which was "estimated, to amount to over 33 per cent of the total, catalogued. ; ■ • . ■ ■ ■‘A certain amount of dust and tenderness . was. apparent, but much less yolk stain .'th'ari .usual for .this sale. The' condition generally was fairly -ligljt for a late Sale. ' '■ . ..-“The. lainbs’ w’ool. opened up well on the- whole, with quite a-tlumber-of attractive: lots but some, ■ unfortunately, were affected adversely by’ faulty skirting. ‘.'Pieice; wodl - and oddments were about up to their ..usual standard. *.

■•'There was a’.full bench of buyers and. the sale opened with good- general .competition.: The main support again came from tfie Continent, ■’With Bradford competing ' for suitable lots. • . ' ’ • “Prices generally can .be quoted as being in buyers’ favour with average to inferior descriptions irregular and slightly easier.'
