Church Grants Appreciated
A number of overseas churches and Christian organisations which had received grants from the National Council of Churches Christmas appeal fund last pionth had written letters of appreciation to tbe executive, said the general secretary (the Rev. D. M. Taylor). Among the recipients of the grants, made on February 14, were the Presbyterian Church of Formosa, which received £lOOO for the provision of a mobile clinic; the Presbyterian Church of the New Hebrides, £5OO for a Christian Bookshop project; the Formosan Christian Service, £500;
the Madras Christian College, £5OO to help establish a faculty of agriculture; the Methodist Church of Fiji, £5OO to pay costs of moving tbe Rev. D. Jordan from India to Fiji to work among the Indian people: the service programme of the World Council of Churches, £4000: the Evangelical Church of Vietnam, £lOOO for scholarships? the United Church of Nepal, £lOOO to establish a high school, and £l5OO to help establish a school for girlt in Papeete.
