E. Asian Christian Conference
Three New Zealanders were elected to committees of the East Asian Christian Conference, at a recent conference held in Bangkok. They were the Rev. R. M. O’Grady, Christchurch, elected to the continuation committee; Mr D. N. Perry, Opotiki, elected to the laity committee; and Dr. Alice Bush, Auckland, Committee of Co-operation of Men and Women In Church, Home and Society.
Meat Subsidy.—The Government yesterday announced higher subsidies for home-produced beef to boost home production because of dropping imports.—London, March 19.
