Car Hits Sheep
Thirteen sheep were killed when a car ran into a mob of 172 ewes on the Main North road, near Ashworth corner, south of. Leithfield, at 7.30 a.m. yesterday. Teri ewes were killed instantly and several others were injured. . Three were' later destroyed.
The car was being driven north by Mr Henry William Lloyd, of 14 Scott street, Christchurch. It was slightly damaged. The ewes were being driven south by their owner’s son, Mr J. D. Ashworth, to another part of the farm.
