Town Hall
Sir,—Residents of Heathcote County can hardly be proud of their councillors, who display such a lack of civic pride that they withdraw their representative from the Christchurch City Council Town Hall Committee on the grounds that the county may have to pay a portion of the cost of the town hall. They are prepared to allow others to pay for the hall, which Heathcote residents will eventually use. along with other citizens of Christchurch. As a resident of Heathcote County, I hang my head in shame at the action of the county.—Yours, etc., HEATHCOTE COUNTY RESIDENT. March 20, 1964.
