Man Pierced By Rod
Mr J. S. O’Loughlin, of 32 Wades avenue, suffered severe injuries when he tripped and fell on a steel reinforcing rod yesterday while working on a building project on the Ham site of the University of Canterbury. The rod pierced Mr O’Loughlin’s neck and damaged his mouth. The accident happened about 1.30 p.m n and Mr O’Loughlin was taken to the Christchuch Hospital by St John ambulance.
His condition last evening was reported to be only fair.
