RAT POISON LAID
Foreshore At Moncks Bay
Rat poison has been laid around the Moncks Bay foreshore by the Christchurch City Council. The council decided to exterminate the rats in the area after a complaint had been received from a resident. The rats are in the stone walls along the foreshore, and also in an open drain and a culvert beneath the roadResidents have been concerned the rodents might move into their homes at the approach of winter. Last year a similar extermination programme was carried out successfully at Humphreys drive. The poison is harmless to domestic animals, but in any case has been laid to be out of reach even of birds.
