SECRETARY-MANAGER OF THE SPORTS UNION The Secretary-Manager will be responsible for the general administration of the Sports Union. The necessary qualifications include a University Degree or equivalent qualifications; experience in administration and a general interest in sporting activities. LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN PHYSIOLOGY Applications are invited from graduates in Science, Veterinary Science, Rural Science or Agricultural Science for the position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physiology. The Department teaches in the Faculties of Science and Rural Science to post-graduate level. The successful applicant would be expected to continue his own line of research or to join one of the existing units. Ruminant physiology, environmental physiology and genetic and biochemical aspects of adaptation are the major research interests in the Department at present. RESEARCH FELLOW IN PHYSIOLOGY Applicants are invited from graduates in Animal Husbandry, Science, Veterinary Science, Rural or Agricultural Science for the position of Research Fellow in the Department of Physiology. The successful applicant would be required to assist in the current programme on the significance of biochemical and physiological individuality in sheep and/or cattle in relation to the animal industries. Work is in progress on genetic aspects of adaptation of animals to environmental conditions and on the physiological factors involved therein. The position is initially tenable for three years but may be extended to five. CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT: Commencing salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience in the case of each of the above mentioned appointments. Salary ranges are as follows: Senior Lecturer —£A2745 x 100—£A3245; Lecturer —£AlB95 x 105—£A2630; Secre-tary-Manager—£Alsls x 100— £A2215; Research Fellow—£AlB9s x 105—£A2630. Provision is made with 'all appointments for travel and removal expenses incurred on taking up an appointment, and for permanent staff, superannuation benefits and staff housing loans. Academic staff are also entitled to travel grants and full salary for study leave.
