Band Title To Wellington

DUNEDIN, March 15. The City of Wellington Highland Pipe Band retained its New Zealand champion title with a clear lead from the Hutt Valley Pipe Band, in the New Zealand pipe band championships held in Dunedin yesterday. Wellington gained 385.741 total aggregate points and Hutt Valley 377.283. The Scottish Society of New Zealand Band was third with 368.891 points and Dunedin fourth with 363.066. The Canterbury Caledonian band was placed second in the B grade aggregate after being placed second In the selection piece section and third in the street march. St. Andrew’s College was placed sixth in the aggregate after a fifth place in the selection section and tenth in the street march. In the C grade street march W’aimate was placed first, North Canterbury Caledonian second and City of Christchurch Ladies’ fourth.
