150 ENTRIES IN SHOW
Early-Flowering Chrysanthemums A show of early-flowering chrysanthemums was held on Saturday by the Canterbury Chrysanthemum Society in the Christchurch West High School hall. The show attracted about ISO entries in the competitive sections, and featured a special display of more than 700 blooms by Mr Leo Clark. An early-flowering chrysanthemum is one which flowers in the open ground without protection before April 1. Awards made were. — Special Prizes National Chrysanthemum Society's silver medal, L Clark; National Chrysanthemum Society's bronze medal, A. L. McIvor; blue ribbon for premier vase in show. M. Cordon. Open A. L. Mclvor, « firsts, 5 seconds. 2 thirds; Mrs C. Weakley. 2 firsts, 1 second, 2 thirds; L. J. Manson. 1 third. Intermediate A. W. Gordon. 1 first, 2 seconds. 1 third; A. A. Stovold, 1 first, 1 second; M. Gordon, 1 first, 1 second; Mrs M. Muir, 1 first; E. Hesse, 2 thirds. Decorative Miss M. A. Pullar. 1 first; L. J. Manson, 1 second; Mrs C. Weakley. 1 third: Mrs N. McLennan, 1 first. Tindell Cup L. Clark, 1 first; Mrs C. Weakley. 1 second; L. Manson, 1 third. The judges were.—Tindell Cup, Messrs' W. Busch; other sections, L. Clark.
