This appointment involves the creation of a new post, the necessity for which has been brought about by the expansion cf the board’s medical social services as part of the board’s policy to extend these services and to overtake the waiting lists of patients awaiting admission to hospitals. Possession of the Diploma in Public Health or equivalent experience in public health is required. The salary will probably be within one of the following scales: £2430-2620-2710-2800 or £2BOO-2900-3000-3100 per annum. The appropriate scale, the commencing salary and any maximum salary within these scales will be determined by the Medical Officers’ Salaries Grading Committee in accordance with the qualifications and experience of the appointee. THE OTAGO HOSPITAL BOARD ASSISTANT SECRETARY APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED from men of good personality within the ages of 30 and 40 years for the position of Assistant Secretary to the Otago Hospital Board. Applicants should possess the Professional Accountancy qualification or have had considerable experience in accountancy work. The position is a managerial one and a sound knowledge of the handling of correspondence and other business arising out of meetings of Committees will be an advantage. The post is one suitable for a person who has the drive and abilities to achieve results in dealing with the day by day problems which arise in the hospital service.
