AGRICULTURAL MENT CONFERENCE INVITATION TO PUBLIC TO SUBMIT EVIDENCE At its meeting on March 3, 1964, the Agricultural Development Conference set up a Production Committee and amended the orders of reference of the Land Valuation and Scale of Farming working parties. Any person or organisation interested in submitting evidence to the Production Committee or to the working parties under their altered orders of reference is asked to inform the secretary of the committee or working party concerned by March 31, 1964, and to submit five copies of his or its evidence not later than April 30, 1964. The Production Committee’s order of reference is: SECRETARY: C/o. Dept, of Agriculture, Wellington. TERMS OF REFERENCE: On the basis of the tentative national target of 111 million ewe equivalents at the beginning of the 197273 farming season: (a) To draw up practicable time sequences for obtaining the desired livestock increases, having regard to the types of livestock and the potential of raising production from various classes of land. (b) To indicate the implications of the tentative national target for the development of industries and services ancillary to farming. The Land Valuation and Scale of Farming working parties’ amended terms of reference are: LAND VALUATION SECRETARY: D. R. B. Dodson, Valuation Dept., Wellington. TERMS OF'REFERENCE: To examine and report on the present land valuation and rating systems and their relation to market values of land and to farm costs; and to report on any desirable changes. (Those persons or organisations who have already made representations on rating need not repeat them.) SCALE OF FARMING SECRETARY: P. H. C. Lucas, Dept, of Lands and Survey, Wellington. TERMS OF REFERENCE: To examine the operation of the existing law of land aggregation and to report on: (a) The influence of scale on farming. (b) The full utilisation of land.
