School Buses In Accidents
(N.Z. Press Association) WAIROA, March 13. Thirty-five children narrowly escaped" serious injury when a school bus overturned on the FrasertownWairoa main highway today. Two secondary school boys received minor cuts. They were the only casualties. The bus had stopped to pick up children at Mill Pa and travelled a few hundred yards when the driver, Mr J. Stone, of Te Reinga, noticed the door ajar. He leaned over to close th s door and his attention was distracted. The bus travelled about 60 yards along the verge of the road and then overturned. A car and a school bus also collided near Opunake today. The car was wrecked but the driver was not badly hurt. None of the children was injured.
