EASTER PLAY PLANNED
Methodist Church Centennial An Easter play, with a cast of 25, will take the place of the usual Sunday evening church service at the Durham Street Methodist church on Sunday, March 22. Produced by the Durham Street Methodist Church Drama Club, it will be the first of the items in the church’s centennial programme. The play is “The Garden” by Father Andrew, F.D.C. and deals with the events of the first Easter from the Thursday before Easter until Easter Day morning. In religious plays the club keeps the persons involved anonymous, even during rehearsals those taking parts in the play are known as the characters they are portraying and not their own names. The anonymity extends to the producer, the wardrobe staff, and all others. Fifty people will be involved in the play which will be produced oh a stage set up in the church.
